Islam vs. Fake News: Similarities, Differences, & Societal Consequences

We all know Islam and fake news peddle falsehoods, but here are two major differences:

1. Islam is more socially accepted than fake news, thereby making it harder to condemn. In fact, Islam is the world’s second largest religion, after Christianity.

2. Islam is harder to ban than fake news, since Islam exploits the First Amendment’s freedom of religion. In fact, critics say that this is the only time liberals care about being Constitutional.

One can argue that Islam IS fake news. First, calling itself the “religion of peace” is false since Islam was spread by the sword. Ancient Muslim conquerors during the Crusades invaded Europe, India, Northern Africa, and Afghanistan; in modern times, Islam has major terror cells in non-Muslim regions, such as “no-go zones” throughout the West, Kashmir in India, the Caucasus in Russia, and Xinjiang in China.

Another way Islam is fake news is how it twists the notion of women’s rights. Burqa bans are happening, from France and Denmark in the West, to China all the way in the East. Islamic human “rights” defenders decried this as an assault on freedom while “forgetting” that Islam requiring women to cover up is itself a violation of women’s rights. Even Angela Merkel, the symbol of welcoming Middle Eastern migrants to the West, has agreed to make “boundaries of our tolerance towards other cultures” when discussing a partial burqa ban in Germany.

Finally, girls being sold as child brides and undergoing genital mutilation is just too gruesome to elaborate on, or even simply mention. A religion that commits these acts en masse, yet deny treating women as second-class citizens is fake news. Still skeptical? Just ask Middle Eastern human rights activists how they feel about Sharia law.

Iranian human rights activist Ameneh Bahrami is a victim of an acid attack and Sharia law.

For those who argue that Islam is a religion of peace despite terrorists killing 3,000 people on 9/11, do they not see how low their standards of peace really are?

Now back to the differences between Islam and fake news. Again, Islam will never be accepted as fake news simply because of its acceptance in mainstream society. Radical Leftists, universities, and social media platforms won’t censor Islamic statements but gladly will censor conservative ones. It’s no longer about fighting for freedom or against lies, its about what’s socially acceptable. And don’t we all know what’s more socially “acceptable” when Islam has 1.8 billion believers, which is almost 1 out 4 people worldwide?
