Illegal immigration isn’t exclusive to poor migrants. One of them is hiding out in the midst of celebrities. An African American, Grammy nominated rapper named 21 Savage was arrest by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) for living illegally in the United States since July 2006. Although he legally entered in June 2005 from Britain, the law-breaker refused to leave when his visa expired.

After his arrest, ICE stated that “Mr. Abraham-Joseph is presently in ICE custody in Georgia and has been placed into removal proceedings before the federal immigration courts”. Shayaabin Abraham-Joseph is the rapper’s legal name.
However, 21 Savage’s lawyers have promised to fight for his stay. Dina Laplot told CNN that she wants to get the illegal immigrant “out of detention while we work with the authorities to clear up any misunderstandings”.
It’s unclear what those “misunderstandings” are, or if any exists.
Laplot also justified 21 Savage’s actions by claiming that he is a “role model to the young people in this country, especially in Atlanta, Georgia” by promoting financial literacy to “underprivileged youths”.
However, ICE has revealed that the rapper was related for drug-related crimes in Fulton County, Georgia, during October 2014.
Many 21 Savage fans were shocked at his illegal status and arrest. Recently, the Trump Administration has pledged to improve America’s border security and internal enforcement. 21 Savage is the latest, and probably the most famous, perpetrator caught.
